Students will learn through a variety of experiences that include group work, presentations, experiments, and investigations. I will strive to provide all students with opportunities to succeed. Rewards The rewards for appropriate behavior are as follows: ·Verbal praise ·Positive note or call home ·Random raffles for prizes Consequences If a student chooses to act inappropriately the following will happen:
Strike 1 - Verbal warning. This is the one and only warning!
Strike 2 - The student will be required to serve a detention during lunch/recess.
Strike 3 - Parent/teacher conference and discipline write-up submitted to the office.
* The consequence for incomplete homework is an automatic detention. Students will receive only one warning for this offense at the beginning of the year.
*Severely inappropriate behavior may result in alternative disciplinary action. PAT (Preferred Activity Time) The class may earn minutes of Preferred Activity Time based on their behavior as a whole class. The minutes are redeemed on a weekly basis for activities such as board games, hang man, spelling sparkle, etc.
